  Kai Phosphorus Group is China’s largest underground phosphate mining enterprise and one of the top three companies in the phosphate compound fertilizer industry. Its predecessor, Kaiyang Phosphate Mine, was established in 1958 as one of the nation’s three major phosphate ore production bases constructed during the Second Five-Year Plan. After more than 50 years of development, it has evolved into a modern, large-scale enterprise group integrating mining, phosphate and coal chemical industries, trade and logistics, construction materials, and property services. The group possesses an annual production capacity of 5 million tons of phosphate rock, 3.5 million tons of high-concentration compound phosphate fertilizers, 600,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, 300,000 tons of methanol, 130,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, and 1 billion units of new-type phosphogypsum bricks.


  In earnest response to the national call for the Scientific Outlook on Development and the promotion of a circular economy, Kaifeng Group decided to construct a new 50kt/a food-grade liquid CO₂ facility—meeting international quality standards—to address the large volume of CO₂-rich industrial exhaust generated during its coal chemical production processes. This initiative aims to produce food-grade liquid CO₂ products demanded by the market, thereby fulfilling environmental emission reduction requirements while generating economic benefits for the enterprise.


  After a thorough comparison of the reliability of various domestic liquid carbon dioxide production technologies, the company ultimately decided to adopt the international-standard food-grade liquid carbon dioxide production technology and patented products developed by our company. Our company determined the design plan based on the composition of the feed CO₂ gas and carried out the overall engineering design and supply. The plant began feedstock loading and commissioning on October 27, 2011. Under the guidance of our technical service personnel, the plant achieved a successful first-time start-up, producing food-grade CO₂ with energy consumption and quality indicators that exceeded design standards.
